Avas Arboretum
Situated on the south-eastern slope of the Avas Hill is the arboretum/evergreen garden created by Dr. Imre Adorjan.
The arboretum sits on 14 hectars (approximately 34.5 acres) and is home to many species of plants and different trees including one of the richest conifer collections in Hungary.
All plants are clearly labeled and categorized. There are different fir species in the arboretum including the giant fir, Jeffrey fir, and Himalayan fir. There is no shortage of giant pine, mountain and Chinese mammoth pine, and lichen bark trees. The garden also has a grove of the hanging rose Rhododendron.
The Lombos garden (”Canopy Garden”) was started here in 1995 on 4.5 hectares (approximately 11 acres). There are 350 deciduous tree species, including virgin plum, fairy, Japanese maple, amber and magic tree.

Free admission
The garden is closed on rainy days.
