Szinva Nature Trail
The Szinva Nature Trail offers one of the most diverse hiking trails in Miskolc. Known as the gateway to the Bükk National Park, it leads from Ottó Herman Memorial Park to Lillafüred.
The route includes Miller’s Cliff, offering magnificant views of Hamor and the Szinva Valley.
Some of the featured attractions along this nature trail are the Szeleta Cave and Szeleta Cavern, which are two of the most significant archaeological sites in Hungary. Szeleta Cave can be toured as a protected and open cave. Findings related to the prehistoric culture found here, known as the Szeleta culture, triggered the Prehistoric excavations in Hungary.
The hiking trail exits at Lillafüred, near Upper Hamor (Felso-Hamor), where Lake Hamor and the wonderful sights of Lillafüred are just a short walk away.
As the nature trail gives a comprehensive picture of the forest's flora, fauna and geology, it represents a complex environmental trail.
The length of this trail is approximately 4 km (2.5 miles). Due to the differences in ground level, it takes about 3 hours to complete.
