Lillafüred Hanging Gardens

Lillafüred makes a great impression with its exceptional architectural and landscape design, and is sure to please lovers, as well as art lovers in a fairy tale setting.

The winding terrace of the Hanging Gardens just beneath the Palace Hotel is one of the most breathtaking stops on the Szinva Trail. There is a children's playground on the upper terrace. The lowest terrace is at the foot of the waterfall near the entrance of Anna's Cave. The other terraces have unique themes bearing unique names such as Flower Terrace, Music Terrace, Poetry Terrace, and Sculpture Terrace.

The hanging garden fascinates visitors every season. It is freely accessible; however, it is worth mentioning the stone steps that make it somewhat difficult for wheelchairs and strollers to get around.

The garden was renovated between 2012 and 2014 as part of the Diósgyőr-Lillafüred cultural and ecotourism project. The garden was originally designed in the 1930s during the work of the Palace Hotel in an eclectic style.
