Mancs Sculpture

Paws is the city’s most famous dog. He was a German Shepherd, a member of the Spider Rescue Team in Miskolc. For his heroic actions and successful participation in rescue efforts, a statue was erected in his memory in 2004 near the Szinva Terrace. His accomplishments and many deployments have made him one of the best rescue dogs in Hungary ever.

He died of pneumonia in 2006. Since then, candles and flowers have been frequently placed at the statue, which is the work of Borbála Szanyi.
