Görömböly Wine Cellars

The Görömböly Wine Cellars are the 2nd most important cellars in Miskolc. Currently, there are more than 500 cellars in operation, most of which are located in Garócza-dűlő, generally made up of three rows of cellars.

This region also used to be famous for its wine but the phylloxera epidemic also put an end to its viticulture at the end of the 19th century.

In addition to the historic cellars, the rustic city district houses newer buildings; like the sacred wine chapel and the Ruthenian Memorial Cellar, built in 2012.

Another popular cellar here the Gral Wine Cellar where you can admire carvings by cellar sculptor, Attila Ducsai.

The unique row of typical cellar houses located on the terraces are a popular venue for special events. It hosts a number of festivities such as Fall Fest, Kuruc Rebel Fest, Harvest Fest, Mulled Wine and Bacon Fest.
