Miskolc Zoo and Cultural Park
Surrounded by forests, the Miskolc Zoo and Cultural Park is located on one of the oldest livestock farms of Hungary in the Csanyik Valley. Historical records from 1355 mention it as a royal wildlife park in the area.
The zoo is home to animals from all continents. The tiger, Persian leopard, camel and rhesus monkey are from Asia; marjos, monkeys and pecans are from South America; North America is represented by raccoons and porcupines; Australian kangaroos, emu, laughing kookaburra; bringing all continents together in the Miskolc Zoo.
Former and present inhabitants of the Bükk Mountains include brown bears, bison and wild cats.
The trails in the zoo help educate children about nature. Walking along the nature trail you can climb up the 9-meter lookout tower and stroll on the 32-meter-long hanging valley bridge.
The Zoo has daily shows including animal feedings. The show times can be obtained from the cashier at the entrance. They also have a petting zoo. The zoo is open to visitors all year round.
